Geocaching is an outdoor treasure hunt. Use a phone or GPS with a grown-up to find a hidden container, sign its logbook, and discover somewhere new.

Use the coordinates to get close. GPS gives an approximate location: slow down near the hiding spot and use your eyes. Stay with your grown-up and respect trails and boundaries.
Open the cache and sign the paper log. Trading is optional: if you take swag, leave something of equal or greater value. Trackables are travelers with a mission, not ordinary trade items.
Close the container securely and replace it exactly where you found it. Ask your grown-up to log the find online. Never dig, damage plants, or enter private property without permission.
Traditional caches have a container at the listed coordinates. Multi-caches lead through several stages. Mystery caches may require solving a puzzle. Events bring geocachers together.
